Titov Island is known for its beautiful crescent shape, with unique treasures given by the nature that hard to be found in other islands or rocks in the Bay. Getting its name from Mr. German Titov, a former Soviet Union astronaut who had visited the area along with Ho Chi Minh in 1962, the pretty island has been known early, whilst relations between Vietnam and former socialist countries, especially USSR, were steadfast. To perpetuate the remembrance of their visit, Ho Chi Minh had named the place “Titov Island”.
Just some 20km east of the center of Halong City, Titov is an exceptional place, offering not only a great beach with smooth white sand but a path uphill to get the best panorama of the bay. Works have been spent hereby consecutively, so travelers now can enjoy not only swimming, water activities, but cold drinks from its cute bars, or choose to climb up just 20 minutes by a paved staircase to the top of the island. From here, they can take a view of sharp dolomite rocks on the island and a great view to the blue ocean around, where numerous activities are on, inclusive of paragliding, kayaking and cruising.
With its location nearby the heart of the bay, short access to the nearby big islands, nowadays Titov Island has been known as a safe place for overnight cruises, as well as the center of exciting activities and charter services.
