When will be the best time to visit Halong Bay?

Any month will be good if the Weather forecast bureau doesn’t say anything of “upcoming typhoon”. The best months are March, August, October and November. The typhoons or rains often come in late Summer (July and September) with no fixed rules. Weekdays from Monday to Friday will be less crowded than Saturday and Sunday. Is it hot for cruising in Summer?

Yes, but it will be breezy as we will hang around on the sea. Upon the same temperature and humidity, the weather at Halong bay feels much better than in the cities. June is usually the hottest month, though, yet we do provide 3-day program with one day in the middle for swimming and relax.

What can we do if the weather is too cold for swimming?

We don’t have very cold days, the lowest recorded temperature on the Bay is 4 to 9 Celsius degrees (39 to 48 Fahrenheit), but the water temperature is always lower than air temperature. We have the mistiest days in January which is the middle of winter in Northern Vietnam. The winter at Halong bay is very mild, in comparison with the winter in Hanoi or other cities, though. In misty days or cold water days, we can climb an island’s peak, have relax time on the sundeck (yeah sometimes it’s cold but we still have the sun), take part in our activities including caving, climbing, walking, fishing, and sightseeing. We also have guitars and movies on-board.
